A real landmark of the Belgian town of Wavre is its Gothic church Saint-Jean-Baptiste. The historic building was built in the 15th century and is today protected as a monument by the Walloon region. It is also part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. Historically, it has survived several historical battles over the past 500 years, including the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
At the beginning of 2021, the audio installation of the church was renewed. AUDAC-certified partner AVTE was given the task of upgrading the old installation to improve sound quality and simplify the control of the system.
For this purpose, the AV integrator chose an XMP44 - SourceCon™ professional modular audio system. This 1HE device offers a professional modular audio system with 4 SourceCon™ interface card slots in which a large number of optional modules can be installed. Thanks to the XMP's SourceCon™ technology, a true plug-and-play implementation is guaranteed, adapted to the specific applications. A wide range of compatible modules is offered by AUDAC and flexible combinations can be created. The Belgian customer of the St. Jean Baptiste church decided on two modules: the MMP40 media player & recorder module and the BMP40 professional Bluteooth module. The MMP40 supports media output from USB storage drives for a variety of compressed and lossless audio formats. It enables both media playback and media recording. The BMP40 Bluetooth module, on the other hand, provides wireless connectivity for any Bluetooth-compatible device. Eight authorized devices can be stored to prevent unauthorized users from connecting.
